14. Max-Reger-Park

Nepomuk-KapelleThe entrance to the Max-Reger-Park welcomes their guests with the Nepomuk Chapel. The St. Nepomuk was built from 1738 to 1756 due to a pledge given by general Fellner von Feldeck.

The sand-stone statue of Saint John Nepomuk was created by the sculptor Johann Franz Dult from Nabburg. Standing in the midst of the park, the Max-Reger-Memorial was designed by the sculptor Josef Gollwitzer from Weiden. It is a massive block of granite - imitating echoing organ pipes dedicated to the composer who lived with his parents in Weiden from 1874 to 1901.

It was also Gollwitzer who designed the Triton Fountain in 1953. The park is also the site of the “Weiden’s Summer Serenades”.
