1. Marketplace

The marketplace stretches out between the Upper Gate and the Lower Gate. The Old Town Hall is located between these Gates. The “Upper Market” with its beautiful gable houses built in the 1540’s is situated between the Upper Gate and the Old Town Hall. The “Lower Market“, where the four annual fairs, which were first mentioned in 1396, and the Wednesday and Saturday weekly market take place, is located between the Old Town Hall and the Lower Gate. Stylistic features of the Renaissance can be found on many town houses.
