Location of the town of Weiden

A town administered as an independent district, Weiden is situated in the northern part of the Bavarian district Upper Palatinate, 100 km east of Nuremberg and 35 km west of the Czech Republic. According to the Bavarian program of regional development, Weiden is the “supreme center” and, with a catchment area of approximately 300,000 people, the region’s center for both commerce and service industries. Moreover, Weiden is well-known even beyond its national and international borders for the mail-order house “Witt Weiden” (bed linen, clothing) and the porcelain manufactured by the companies “Bauscher” and “Seltmann”.
